Since they were first implemented in the 1960s, seat belts have come a long way. However, even modern seat belts can have problems that can be potentially catastrophic to car accident victims.

One type of seat belt known as the Gen 3 seat belts has come under fire for presenting certain safety risks. If you have this seat belt, it is up to you to take it to the dealer and get it replaced. There has yet to be a recall issued.

For this interview, we spoke to attorney Stewart Eisenberg to learn more. He says that this seat belt is common in many vehicles, including several Chrysler models. He represented a man who became paralyzed due to the seat belt in a Honda Acura, and he helped the man recover a $60 million verdict. In his case, he showed that Honda knew that there was a risk to passenger safety, and they did nothing to correct it.

Ford seat belts are defective. Mine failed and came apart on impact. Brain damage degenerative, fractured skull, fractured jaw, broken sternum, permanent loss of vision. The guy who ran the red light and hit me died in accident. So far Ford has not settled. Farmers insurance has not played out anything. The Ford truck is in storage for investigation.
