I was mainly exposed to american/british (skrillex/feed me/circus records/rusko) when i first got into dubstep/electronic music, so that was my impression and formed my own taste. i didn't hear about excision and the rottun records crew (canadian) until a bit later, but i did enjoy it and have kept up with it since.
some favorites of mine from excision are pretty much anything he's done with space laces and his Codename X album was my favorite by far, the others haven't really done it for me. Absolutely love Live Wire and the pbn collab, and I didn't even know about the push it up second drop (insane) until recently lol

Rumble is definitely my current favourite Excision track and my favourite Dubstep track from last year. The whole Virus album was amazing but The Paradox is my favourite from it. I have not listened to a lot of Excision's older stuff honestly. Mostly got into his sound when Virus came out. Going to have to listen to the tracks you mentioned to see if I agree with your ranking for them.

A bit surprised not seeing throwing elbows on here. I don't enjoy moshing all night long but when throwing elbows come up you just gotta go in there.
Also, I'm really into the heavy stuff but i love Gold (Stupid Love), it has such a special chill but really energetic vibe, and a really catchy vocal.

I don't understand dubstep truism. Like to me Gold, Drowning, Home, 1 on 1, and Vault sound so much more of a mature, musical and developed sound than his older stuff. I came up with his old tracks, and they set the stage for modern dubstep. However to say those were his best tracks would be a gross understatement. Electronic music is constantly evolving and X has been able to continue in the game for such a long time and stay relevant, it bums me out you don't give these tracks credit.
