Brilliant video Luke. Loved the Hatton Bank ending mate, those castles far outshone any of the units that go up there nowadays despite heavier loading. Great to see you today too man. Regards, Dan

I was on the train, and possibly the most frustrating bit was when the IET left just as we got into Oxford on the way to Didcot so we had to come to a dead stop. If he'd waited 2 minutes we could have roared through... But hey ho, a cracking day for everyone. So many great videos and photos to look at as well.

A very nice compilation of the castles today mate, shame I wasn’t able to see it but it sure looked like a fun day! Loved the part at the start with Clun and Earl racing a 800 out of Oxford! Kind regards Jamie

Splendid stuff! I was at Oxford and Banbury for the return run and was rewarded by a high speed run through Oxford with the regulators in the roofs as they made time from an earlier P.W. slack. That footage is on my YT channel, but the footage from Didcot will have to wait until I've got more time.

Loved that opener Luke, imagine once that 800 driver recovered from his surprise he said 'sod that'!! Spoke to crews at Snow Hill as it was obvious at Warwick that they deliberately held back to make sure that Stratford had cleared and Alistair Meanly said 62 mph through Hatton pretty effortless!! Nice to catch up at Didcot.... Regards, Brian.

Excellent...what is better than one CASTLES just hope everyone reads their history books to read how the Castle Class seriously influenced the design and future design of LMS and LNER express locomotives. Without the Castles there would have been no Flying Scotsman, to mention just one!
