My Grandfatber, Sco Trussell, worked in Strong City in the late 50s when his farming days were over. I recognize the building he worked in which was a Firestone Tire store. We lived in Calif but would travel to Kansas every Christmas. I am now 70 and can remember those trips to Kansas. They were magical.

As many times as I’ve been to Tallgrass, I’ve never ventured into strong city. Thanks for look around. I’m going to have to check it out!

Unusual name. Interesting how the stone industry was the reason it got the name all those years ago.  Have a great weekend, Greetings, Julie.

Bless Your Heart ! ! ! THIS is the Caboose which sits on top of my Amplifier (Just below Turntable) you may have seen in a few of my videos..I beam in on it, from time to time..I am still
rather upset, that the railroad did away with the caboose..LOOK at all the beautiful, splendid interior of that gorgeous piece of History !!! ( I take the top off of mine from time to time, just to look at
the interior..It is fully detailed) I will show it to you, when I get the old videos up...It lights up, and Smoke comes out of the stack! )..Nowaday, when you see the train pass, you are lucky to see an old
freight box, or flat, with a cheap LED flashing light on the rear !!! Thanx so much for this video! We have a few around the State..One, is in Boise City, OK.. ( Yes, that town..the ONLY town in the USA
was bombed during WW II ! ) Thanx for the great Caboose vid, have a happy weekend !

If I may, if you have never seen, a great, old, classic RR film with Ernest Borgnine, of the traveling HOBO hitching ride on Trains in the 20's, 30's.. It is called, "The Emperor of the North" I think, from
1967 ? .. indeed, a true must see Americana film of days long gone..They set up camps, all across the Country..They lived, to ride the trains, and tell their tales.. A great film, I only wish they had made a vinyl soundtrack of the movie ! ! !

The force is strong with this one. I enjoyed seeing that old train car. Looks like the one used to control a train... do those have a special name? (The conductor's car.). I have no time to google that one. Can't spare the 2 minutes at this time, sadly. Have a good weekend!
