this aint bashing.
truth is, she (Simone) is just too hyped. she was being put in the pedestal more than the many other strong athletes representing the USA, which is already partial to begin with. how the media pushed and labeled her as the 'best' made her lose the ability to win (especially after realizing that her competition were doing better) and the courage not to quit (regardless of the result). it is very easy to say that she has become mentally unfit, as the reason of her pulling out. true or not, however, isnt it the same for many years already that she was being 'hailed' as the best? the pressure should no longer be an issue to her in the first place.
at the end of the day, she just really fears losing all I can say. i still remember before how Kelly Strugg kept her composure with an injury and struggled to still pursue completing the last vault (and unfortunately suffered even more after), but gave the USA its first team gold! she has the spirit of of true sportsperson. im not saying Simone is not, but her quiting is very questionable to me frankly. Just
Yes, mental health is still everything... no questions about that. but i doubt if she (along with the rest) havent gone mental check pass before the games, even more so, way before being selected as team USA for that matter.
its just the fear of losing, i can tell. and the added pressure is putting it all in full circle.
ANYWAY, CONGRATS TO SUNI AND TO ALL THOSE WHO CONTINUED TO FIGHT WITHOUT QUITTING REGARDLESS OF THE RESULTS... ❤

True, the media will ruin her mind like they did to Simone. She did a good thing.

When you become a so called 'G.O.A.T', don't you ever forget this very moment how the journey started. You need a break, take a break. Never ever take anything for granted and think, 'I am the G.O.A.T so I will do whatever, I want and when I want it'. Remember, Champions come and go! Well done, Sunisa Lee on your achievement!

She deserves everything positive that’s happening to her right now. She worked hard and chased her dream for too long.

I learned that she was Hmong before I learned what the event she won was. Identity is more important than achievements now. I'm not surprised she won. She's an American. Americans are winners. What if she lost? Would that have brought shame to the Hmong community or America? No! She worked hard and earned that medal just like all the other American gold medalists before her. She won it for America. I'm tired of this narrative. When will it stop being important to be the first minority to achieve something? It's racist.

It’s understandable that the sudden change in notoriety was distracting how couldn’t have been! But I believe in her.

Team USA is doing their best to represent UNITED STATE OF AMERICA. Please do your part and support all of them regardless of who medal or not. There is enough pressure on our girls already.
