Biden holds high-stakes news conference as he fights for his political life

President Biden faced intense questioning about his future as he held a rare news conference. With his candidacy under growing scrutiny, several close allies, including three involved in his reelection campaign, say they cannot see a path to victory for the president. Meanwhile, more than a dozen House Democrats have now publicly asked President Biden to drop out of the presidential race, and Senator Peter Welch of Vermont became the first senator to do so.
