TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I believe that education is the foundation of society and the savior of the future of our country. It brings me immense joy to feel that I am a part of creating the future. My experience has been in teaching math at the college level, but I have also tutored students in math and physics of all ages. I have been effective in this field for the past 10 years, making a name for myself at multiple colleges and universities such as Broward College, Palm Beach State College, Miami Dade College, and Florida International University.

I find many students to be typically most fearful of the technical courses in school, however, have great joy when understanding takes place. I find that comprehension can bring someone back to life. It can bring excitement and interest, and spark creativity and imagination.

My goal is to create a fun and comfortable environment in my classroom; break down the wall of fear and blockage to open the minds a bit more and increase the excitement to learn. I have witnessed multiple students enter my classroom with a mentality that they “can’t do it” or “are not good at math,” and leave feeling like they can conquer the world because they understand something they never thought they would! Anything is possible, and an education will bring discipline, self-worth, strength and pride and a feeling of accomplishment to an individual. No one can take that away, it will be with them for the rest of their lives.
