This is the year that Punky Brewster makes her return in a new Peacock original series!

To prepare, let's take a look back. In this clip, the court wouldn't allow for Punky to go home with Henry...but there may be a change of heart after Punky chimes in.

Synopsis: This tender comedy features Punky, an independent, effervescent little girl who was abandoned by both of her parents. She's living with her puppy in a vacant apartment in Chicago until Henry, the manager, discovers her hiding place. He decides Punky is a special child who needs a home. It turns out that she enriches the neighborhood and Henry's photo studio.

I totally forgot about this episode until watching it now. I'm still bawling over it over 35 years later

Punky and Henry were the best family ever.

The courts today have no trouble separating foster children from loving families. "Yes, take them from the family that raised them for seven years and give them to the biological aunt they've never seen who lives ten states away and is on parole." Makes perfect sense.

That's it, I'm buying the DVD set.

This show was so great, I watched it as a child and it taught me so much. That line: "this isn't about if a couch and a coffee table go together" really REALLY stuck with me. It's brilliant.

I love the way Punky sounds like she wants to stay with Henry and she wants to be happy with the decision to stay with Henry

I cried like I did over 35 years ago when she ran back inside the house to hug Henry. This was my favorite show. I remember every episode.

I recently came back from living overseas for decades only to learn about "Punky Brewster" in this video. The USA still has a lot of heart.

I loved this show. Loved the way she dressed. Also saw that it was ok to wear what ever I wanted. Any way I wanted.

And that was how commandant Eric Lassard became a foster parent.
