Volvo Slams Tesla With Its New 400 Horsepower Plug-In SUV

Watch out Tesla TSLA and Elon Musk. Volvo just unveiled a 400-hp plug-in electric hybrid SUV - the XC60.
"The Volvo XC60 is an important car for Volvo in the United States," said Lex Kerssemakers, Senior Vice President of the Americas; President and CEO of Volvo Car USA, "It provides a new and more athletic attitude to the design language that was first shown in the 90 series cars."

The interviewer isn't an electric car fan for sure! He says "when we take the autonomous driving feature coupled with the hybrid engine feature; it sounds alot like Tesla"....WTF?!!

"Hybrid" is NOT ELECTRIC! A plug in electric is a step in that direction but hybrid systems are still CRAP. Sure they work great when they work ... for a while. Tesla is fully electric. The trouble with hybrid is that you have the best of two worlds but the COST and mechanical issues of TWO systems! I have two XC70's with over 300, 000 miles on them. You think these cars will make it that far without HUGE maintenance bills? And the likely hood of someone actually being able to do their own maintenance? NOPE! I do all my own and I wouldn't touch a hybrid. I WOULD however work on an all electric, just because the systems are way more simple with regard to component exchange.
