What happens when you archive a message

Archiving chat in an android device will hide the chat from the chat screen. This will help you to organize the chat windows and also hide the chat from the main screen.

When you archive the chat then the chat does not get deleted from WhatsApp. Also it does not get backed up anywhere such as in iCloud or in an android device.

1. For that one let’s open WhatsApp.
2. Now suppose if you want to archive the chat with this contact then press and hold the chat with the contact.
3. The chat will be selected.
4. If you want, you can select another chat also to archive it.
5. Then tap on the archive button.
6. Now the chat will be archived and hidden from the main screen.
7. Now in case if you want to archive all the chats then tap on the three dotted icons on the upper right corner.
8. Select “settings”.
9. Select “Chats”.
10. Select “Chat history”.
11. Now select “Archive all chats”.
12. Then select “OK” to archive all the chats.
