KBEAR KS1 - The Bassy Fun Little Brother

The KBEAR KS1 had me at the big V sound but when you add in the affordable price, easy to drive, and comfort, it is a no-brainer for bass fans. For me, I prefer big V shaped (big bass and big upper end) over pure basshead low end so take that into consideration. My playlist is varied so I need a set that can hit hard, go deep but still deliver a great vocal that is not lost a recessed mid section.

Got mine in today, compared it to my VK4, VK3, and AK6. In initial comparison to the $12 VK4 I find it has noticeably more bass, especially punchy, tight mid bass and has a slightly better high end. I find it slightly less fatiguing than the VK4 while still slightly better detail and separation on the mid and high end. With the $5 AK6 which is just an awesome boomy bass cannon but still acceptable vocals and highs (they definitely are not muffled or muddy like the OS1) the KS1 has about the same maybe a tiny bit more mid bass and sounds tighter and punchier. With sub bass the KS1 is about 80-90% of what the AK6 provides- or at least that's the way it sounds with the mids and highs more recessed on the AK6. With the KS1 having slightly more punchy bass the experience is very nice and while slightly different vs the warmer boomy AK6, both are very nice bass experiences- the KS1 is definitely basshead approved and now my second pick just for bass and first overall. Now with the mids and highs they are significantly better than the AK6. Very clear, good separation, and not really any annoying sibilance on the KS1. Very happy so far for $15, and it'll be nice to have a pair that has a detachable cable without sacrificing too much on the low end. I’m a bass head that likes V shape and have found the $5 QKZ AK6 to be excellent and not lose too much of the rest of the spectrum. I actually prefer it to the VK4 for better bass and while not as good mids or highs still enough of a trade off for me. Any idea how this might compare?

Just wanted to bring to your attention the following detail. Some people have been experiencing loose tips on brand new was also a victim of that problem but the driver on that earphone was also damaged. Perhaps you could bring this to the attention of KBear as you have more Influence than me
