A good left hook is absolutely paramount for a shorter boxer. I’m 5’10” and I fight at 175 (light heavyweight). I’m shorter than almost all of my opponents, and I rely on an old-school counter-slugging style. My left hook is my best power-punch, and opponents often don’t see it coming.

The counter punching style of canelo has gone more and more with each fight. Depending on the fighter he adapts with munguia we saw him stand in the pocket and just bang. Mexican style I’d say he’s adapting that style a lot and mixed in with American head movement and the Philly shell he picked up since he fought mayweather he really said I’ll take bits of each style that works and he created his own style

Yes, for me the only bad thing about Canelo is when he lowers his hands because it leaves him at a disadvantage.

TBF Canelo is usually larger in frame and muscle mass, look at his neck size, bicep size, torso and quads. He just is shorter. A man who is 6 foot 3, and less than 200 pounds is a fairly slim man.

All that mass makes him slow. Will never pan out well at 175. Plus slow footwork will always keep him at a disadvantage against fleet footed fighters
