MPC 3.0 with a linear arranger is what we really want Akai. Please and thank you.

Very dissapointing ...
The same old device with now just 4GB of RAM (it's not doing much extra for the Keys61) and the extra storage was never an issue with SD cards and ofcourse the SSD slot.
Not even an ethernet port.

Yeah, looks nice in the retro colors but after 2 years of the MPC One Retro and the LIve 2 Retro we have seen this before and it's not that special anymore.
A nice price would have made it a lot more sweet but it's still $2500.

Akai, try coming out with actually NEW hardware, actual current gen processors, ample RAM and storage so that we can actually run VST's !

Looks good, does kinda look alot like the MPC Renaissance with that colour scheme.

Looks like fusion between the X and the Renaissance

I wish Roger Linn bough back the Akai brand back in 2005 when the company went out of business. Everything under the Inmusic company has been junk over the years. The quality control is horrendous and I'm not happy how the company is run and cheaping out cutting corners on design and parts. I'm mean the MPCs made in the 90s were wayyyy better made that last a life time esp the MPC 3000 and 60 that are still being used today. That's when Rodger Lin worked for Akai back then. My MPC 5000 had all sorts of problems both software issues and hardware issues. I took a loss and tossed my MPC 5000 out to the trash after the power supply went out on it. Inmusic knew about the issue for years and never bother to do anything about their faulty power supplies on that unit given it shares the same power supply as the the short lived Alesis Fusion HD keyboards that would overheat and fail. The MPC X is also reported to have screen issues. All the modern products are full of planned obsolescence designed to fail. I want some thing that was built to last!

AKAI, since the Linear Arranger is already created for the AKAI Force why not bring it to the MPC X SE as well? Keep the Block Arranger and add the Linear Arranger as well. This way producers will be able to work in the way that suits them best. It's very complicated, almost impossible to work a well-crafted song in a Block Arranger. A music producer is lost! The MPC is more and more evolved and this is very evident in this machine. But the way of working with it has to follow this evolution.

This is good work! And in the long standing tradition of how we maintain the value of the MPCs over time.

I've been holding off buying an X because as soon as I did I knew a better version would drop. Glad I waited.
Little sad that you can't use Bluetooth headphones yet though.

This would have been incredible and groundbreaking years ago but with DAW's like Ableton combined with Serato Sample, it does not seem like there's a lot of value here, with all do respect. I had an MPC 2000 and it was great at that time. Now I have an MPK49 great combo with Ableton

Will the next update 3.0 allow us to load in our own custom load screens, and manipulate samples inside our MPCs with midi controller turntable decks in the question though? (We shall see).

Yikes! A new paint job, more RAM that’s not needed since the software is the same, and throwing in sounds they have been charging everyone for? The best thing about this MPC is it will drive the price down on the original X. Feels like a pretty epic dropping of the ball.

Native Instruments was just given a gift of an open door to do damage.

I see the storage increased to 48 gigs to provide more space for instruments though we can use the user installed ssd for that. Is the additional ram necessary from 2 to 4 gigs?
