Pakistan will be hosting the SCO summit in October. Prime Minister Modi has been formally invited to the SCO summit, which will be held in Islamabad next month. It is a protocol for the host country to formally invite all member states to attend the summit. Therefore, India's Prime Minister has also been officially invited. Now, the question is whether PM Modi will go to Pakistan to attend the summit? The chances of this are almost negligible. Given the tense relations between India and Pakistan, it is most likely that the PM will not go to Pakistan himself, and instead, a ministerial delegation will represent India. In the past, India has also been represented by other ministers at SCO summits instead of the PM. For instance, last year at the 22nd SCO Heads of Government summit in Kyrgyzstan and this year at the 24th SCO Heads of State summit in Kazakhstan, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar represented India. So, it is most likely that in the upcoming 23rd SCO Heads of Government summit, a ministerial delegation will go to Pakistan to represent India instead of the PM.
