I discovered High Note Records about 15 yrs ago and became impressed with the quality of the recordings. Initially purchasing artists well known to me, and in purchasing one CD by the Mighty Burner - Charles Earland, Eric was the Tenor Sax player and his mastery of his instrument had me purchasing his CD’’s as well. So, listening to “Almost Like Being In Love” is great. He doesn’t disappoint.

What hes doing is adding Coltrane changes to the changes of Almost like being in love. That's why it sounds like Coltrane. It is a good way to reharmonize most of the standards.
