Imaginary Musicscape: Phantom Image는 가상현실 공간에서 청취되는 음악의 언어를 어떻게 재해석하고, 촉각적인 파동으로 온몸이 느낄 수 있을까에 대한 물음과 상상으로부터 시작된 사운드스케이프 작업입니다.
본 작업의 가상공간은 폐허가 된 도시를 지나 유토피아적인 상상력을 제공하는 반현실(反空間, contre-escapes, contre-reality)로 도달하게 됩니다. 안개로 가려져 있는 이 공간은 우리의 일상에서 마주하는 컴퓨터, 키보드, 팩스, 브라우저, 에러메시지 등 무심코 지나치는 지극히 일상적인 사운드의 조각들이 모여있는 장소입니다. 이러한 군집은 중첩되고 꼬여있는 배치를 통해 일상적이지 않은 관계, 맥락을 만들게 됩니다. 소리 사이를 거닐며 글리치된 사운드 언어로 표현된 사운드 스케이프를 감상하시길 바랍니다.
Imaginary Musicscape: Phantom Image is a soundscape project that began with the question and wonder of how to reinterpret the language of music heard within a virtual space, and how it may be perceived as tactile pulsations throughout the body. The virtual space of Imaginary Musicscape: Phantom Image reaches a contre-escapes, or contre-reality that provides a Utopian imagination, after passing through a city in ruins. This space, covered by a fog, is populated by computers, keyboards, fax machines, browsers, error messages, etc., fragments of sounds encountered daily and often passed over. Such a congregation creates extraordinary relationships and contexts, through overlapping and entwining arrangements. The audience is invited to take a stroll amongst the sounds and to appreciate a soundscape expressed through a glitchy sound language.
