The famous rotating house in San Diego is for sale for the first time EVER, and today we dive into the entire back story. The couple who owns this home spent $1 million building it out into what it is today back in 1999. And now they are asking $5.3 million for their incredible creation. The home rivals all of the other amazing mega mansions found around Southern California. It might not be as big as the other mansions, but it is equally as cool!

Honestly a brilliant design, at first when I saw this house I was just perplexed at how it can be done and if there was some massive motor that spun the whole house. Nah, way simpler, they just took their house and turned it into a train that never ends.

They're selling it because the husband said since they are older and most likely he will pass before she does that he doesn't want to leave her with the burden of trying to sell it and trying to explain how it all works to a potential buyer, so he wants to sell it now before he passes.

I’ve looked at revolving buildings 10 years ago and the flexible utility connections. Sounds fun especially since they can turn it on when they want and adjust the speed. 😎

There is a residencial building in the city of curitiba, brasil, that has revolving floors. Each floor is one apartment. The building is empty because no one bought the units. It is called suite vollard.

Nice story of Al and Janet Johnstone rotating house. It is amazing that a small electric motor rotated the house. I like the low maintenance also. I see why an electric motor can power a Tesla car.

Pretty neat. If it can rotate more than 360 so you don't have to go back then the utilities/plumbing gets a little exotic. Not impossible but harder. I'm guessing it has stops so it can't continue to rotate, then it can be done with just flexible tubing.

Dated design. And you can build a lot with $5-$10mm brand new spec state of the art. It’s lovely though that they look like they are happy together!
