There's all this hate for the Spider series but I don't get it. With some mild tweaking, you can take one to a jam session of any genre and do pretty damn well. Of course they aren't made to be touring or studio amps, that isn't the market nor what they're designed for. These are literally made to be jack of all trades style amps and they do it pretty damn well in my opinion.

If you just put this out without mentioning the amp at all, motherfuckers would say "Ola, that tone is crushing!" This proves that people listen with their eyes.

The non-recto sounds are pleasing and easy on the ears. It's a sound that mixes well and allows for vocals to really shine. But the recto versions are, as tuned, so present and provide much more immediacy and presence. I enjoyed the variations and could easily see applications for the various modes. Cheers!

For what it's worth, this is a great sound for new players and those on a budget. People give spider so much crap without realizing who it's for. I wouldn't mind having one for my bedroom!

So what's the general consensus on the V? I had the ole 75w Spider II, which I sold because I got better sound from my PC using vsts.
If it's actually worth getting for the amp modeling, then I might look into it.
Looking for an actual opinion though, not comments from the Spider hate train.

Surprised you were able to get tones this decent out of one of these guys. I've been dinking around with the ones we have on display at my work and I haven't yet been able to get anything this good. Then again since you did direct routing and I'm hearing mine from the stock line 6 speaker, that also does a lot for tone quality.

Rectola sounds huge, and dare I say, like a rectifier! Pretty amazing sounds considering that this is direct to the interface and not via your satan's poweramp and cab setup. Absolutely shits on the older Spiders and Vypyrs.

I'm using the Line6 XT Live, I'm considering getting a spiderV30 for practice and to get rid of the clutter at home. I will be very happy to see the metal distortion tones and cabinet simulations of my XT pedal on this amp. I hope I can catch these deadly tones of Ola englund....

My first practice amp was an old Gorilla amp back in 1984. I wished they had stuff like this back then.  to many people say negative stuff about line 6. They are great at what they do and what they are intended for.

I dont find the presets. l Perhaps they aren't there anymore or maybe they aren't compatible with the MKII spider v 60?

I have an HD100 head and I can't get it to sound right to my ears. too much fizz. Dialed back the presence and treb but then I lose all the bite and chuggability. should i get an EQ inline?
