Human nature:
Step 1: Create problem.
Step 2: Blame someone/something else for said problem.
Step 3: Punish them.
Step 4: Pat yourself on the back, because you saved the world again.

People don’t understand that we have a part in the circle of life

If you let the weak herds get eaten, then they'll go after the strong ones

when a prey has 1-2 offspring per year and wolves have a litter it doesnt take much to realize whats going on.

Humans have always culled wolf packs. We evolved side by side and competed with each other. Not thinning wolf numbers is a very new and damaging human mistake.

The people walking with the wolves have no experience with wild animals whatsoever.

There was once a balance, it can happen again.

I hunt..and I love wolves, I respect them. but hearing stuff like this bothers me.
we humans are smarter and can reason better then any animal that I know of.
so instead of punishing those who hunt by instinct and to survive, why don't we use our brains... and put our selfish selves to the side.

maybe stop hunting for a couple of years in order to let animal numbers rise back up. sounds more logical....

sincerely,
 A hunter.

You can eat deer, caribou, and elk. You cannot eat wolves. They have their place but so do the animals that people depend upon to feed their families. Not everyone can run to the grocery store and buy their meat some depend upon wild game. The check and balance system is hard but is a necessary must!

its rather easy to put economic value on wolves and open up a hunting season for them

Most dogs would look back and try to run after the car. Instead this dog just walks away like he feels no connection to the owners at all. Very strange.

The people that are using captured wolves for pets and for their own profit should be fined for adding negative fuel to the debate. A wolf should not be someones pet. Wolf numbers should be kept in check, period. The trapper and hunter has always been part of natures fabric of life, The bleeding hearts should stay in the city and let the hunters and trappers and ministry do their required work of controlling numbers of over abundance. Thanks!

Quebec did the same thing as B.C. is now doing, but perhaps not on the same scale. Habitat loss is the primary reason Caribou are disappearing. You cannot give out cutting permits right and left on the forests which the Caribou need to use to survive. I witnessed little calves with heavy collars put around their necks, just stumbling around after their mothers here in Quebec. In B.C from the air and from the water, I saw  fringes of trees left standing along the highways, but behind vast amounts of clear cutting was taking place. Habitat loss is the greatest threat to Caribou and both governments know it, but the scapegoat, as usual, are the predators.
