Thank goodness Lauren is talking with someone! This is already a big first step, admit that you need help. I am actually not against Lauren take a break from her work if what is at stake is her own wellbeing. She is on the edge of breaking down so take a couple of steps back to build herself back together is not selfish. Naturally the way she was let down by that awful boss of theirs is unacceptable, but I have no doubt this will be a move she will regret greatly, Lauren is just too good at her job lol
People come and go from new Amsterdam so don't worry guys even if she lost her position doesn't means at all that she is leaving the show, it only means we are in for more drama

Oh Lauren baby, if Leyla knew what you were really feeling she wouldn't be pushing you to stay. In the same way that she doesn't want you to leave because of her, she doesn't want you to stay if it means staying is making you miserable. I'm happy Helen gave her the permission she needed to do what is right for herself because that's the most important thing...do what is right for you and the rest will take care of itself.

I am all for Lauren leaving for her own personal sanity, I hate that Veronica pushed her when she had decided otherwise, but I don't think this break will be permanent and it will be good for Lauren in the long run. Max will come back and Lauren will always have her job if Max is around, so while Max fights to get the hosptial back, Lauren can take the time to reasses and figure things out for herself so that when she does go back to the hospital she's healthier and feeling better about herself and life.
