TC Helicon - HARMONY SINGER 2 (Impressive Little Vocal Pedal)

One big drawback for the voice live play is that the sensor it uses to detect the tones to put harmony its to (called "NP"), usually will not work past 2 hours of "sensing" without being unplugged/replugged in to reset it. Sometimes it won't even last an hour without requiring a reset. I've owned 3 and they all have that problem. I have 3-4 hr gigs, so its a real pain. If you rarely need the harmonies, its no big deal but if you do the "NP" sensor is paramount.

I love the TC Voice Play but it needs an update.

Replace the body rez feature with an IR Loader as they sound better with an acoustic, add the capability to EQ the Guitar and Voice and prevent feedback like a notch filter, add a better looper and voila, finally allow for balancing volumes between guitar and vocals and you're all set. As an option maybe duplicate the functionality of the Fender Smolder Acoustic gain effect.

As someone who has owned both of these, go for the TC Helicon.

I been trying to use the boss ve 500 i dont know anything about mixing might return it fro the helicon live play, the auto tune just doesn’t sound like what i need i can’t seem to get it right

The secret is the harmonizer sounds so much better with extreme compression and enhance engaged. Panning and EQ is super important! Use a condenser and use less enhance otherwise with a dynamic mic, it's going to sound much more artificial.

Hi Brett, great video. Novice to all this technology hence why im researching it. So im looking to invest in my own self sufficient set up as basic and portable as can be. Which one of these would you recommend for someone who is new to the equipment but wanting to gig professionally?. Also any recommendations on a speaker to accompany a vocal box? TIA

Is the sound quality noticeably better on the boss or is it a massive jump compared with tc helicon?

Thank you for your review Brent, I appreciate it.

but the interesting thing is to compare the ve500 with the Tc vl3. I suppose then that vl3 is superior to both, right?

I got a Helicon Harmony gxt. I use it in a strange way: 1) Mic in 2) Inst In 1/4 for a BeatBuddy drum machine. Got one reverb knob for both. Input knob for the mic, Guitar knob for my drum machine. I plug the Left out xlr on my Harmony GXT into 1) input of a QSC powered speaker >> I plug my xlr guitar preamp into 2nd) input of my QSC speaker and that’s it, easy pizzy. Harmony GXT is a two in one devise for me (mic and drum machine)

Just bought the VE500 which is nice and loud which I like HOWEVER plugging my drum machine into the instrument In the drums doesn’t work/ nothing no sound coming out my QSC speaker. Why, I have no idea???? This sucks for me!!

Question: is the Helicon Voiceplay loud because this is what I need cuz my Harmony GXT is not loud hardly at all!!! I figure the Voiceplay will work with my drum machine >>Same company and all…???

I have watched many videos out here in the last week, but I would say I am more unsure now than before. The problem is that I play keyboard and it seems to me that I only have two choices "tc helicon voicelive 3 extreme" and "boss ve-500" which has midi in. But both of these are difficult to configure, the first one is also very expensive. Is there a better, simpler and equivalent alternative for us vocalists who play keyboards? I play and sing a lot of classic country music. Your video is very informative and made me think a lot. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? One last question is Can you use the tc helicon voicelive 3 extreme and boss ve-500 with the default values or do you have to change the sound a lot?

Excuse me for commenting from Japan.
I am currently using voice live 2 and am considering purchasing the VE-500. I would like to ask about the VE-500. Is it possible to correct the pitch of a singing voice naturally without making it sound croaky with the pitch correct effect?
Also, when using pitch correct and monitoring my own voice with headphones, will the corrected voice sound a little delayed from the original voice, causing a double sound or something strange?
Also, I heard that there are pitch correct keys that you set yourself and ones that you set by playing the guitar, but is there a function that automatically matches the key using a YouTube sound source as a trigger? And one more thing, which one has better harmony sound quality, voice live 2 or this?
Sorry for the long message.
If you don't mind, I would be very grateful.
Thank you in advance.

Easy to handle, If you can only control your vocals with Wooran Paddal and want to make a variety of sounds, what would you recommend? Thank you at all times.
