If you need to wash this, it is not immersible, and you cannot disconnect the cord. I miss my old West Bend electric Wok which could be completely dunked under water like my old electric fry pan for that once in a while full cleanse. I know we can pretty much wipe out the cooking surface and cook some more goodies in there, but eventually I'd want to give it a proper ''bath'' just to be safe. I can't help but think of food-borne illnesses if we're reusing any cooking apparatus that hasn't been washed in a while.
