Apple never said they were exclusive to OpenAI. I suspect they'll sleep around with other providers like Google, Anthropic and others. Until Apple develops its own large language model and gains control over the entire ecosystem.

Satya Nadella is a really savvy CEO. In 10 years of being Microsoft CEO the share price has risen more than 12 fold. Microsoft has plenty of other investments in AI startups besides OpenAI. I saw this earlier and thought it was a way to generate conversation. The only thing which has surprised me is that Microsoft didn't use their vast cash pile to invest in Nvidia about 5-10 years ago! In They once owned a minority stake in Apple and as recently as 2007 had a stake in what was then Facebook!

That’s a seriously simplistic take on this. Do you think Nadella wouldn’t have thought of this scenario? They own 49% and have one of the most restrictive clauses in their contract with OpenAI.

open ai r gonna burn their fingers. in the past, apple has closed down such endeavours, poached employees and moved the ops in-house. that's the size of the cat they're taking on.

Don't say "AI ARMs RACE". It is an AI Race but not an AI ARMs Race. "ARM" is a bit of a scary word and should not be used casually.

This is actually a good news, this is the partnership that bring new revenue source for Microsoft.

Bad take. Ignoring Microsoft’s AI supercomputer and OpenAI ownership stake, Microsoft has embedded GenAI in numerous consumer and enterprise products, launched devices that also perform on-device GenAI, and is a leader in managing Cloud GenAI workloads (including every search that goes through ChatGPT)

So while Apple Intelligence will certainly sell more Apple devices, Microsoft has numerous channels of AI monetization

Apple is paying OpenAI n exposure is not a real deal. Siri will ask you if is ok to ask ChatGPT and that’s it. Is not port of the OS. It won’t perform tasks.

Does Apple use they own cloud because they said they use same type of apple chip. Maybe they run the ai themselves
