This is crazy. Is there seriously no way to just pick the resolution I want to take the picture in to begin with? Who wants to have to edit their pictures constantly? Takes ages to send a pic via text to someone when at home because of my horrid wifi and this S21 is the very first camera I had that I can't choose what res my camera takes my pictures in.

- First option creates HEIC files instead of JPG;
- Second option requires manually processing each photo one by one... :(

The first option does not change the resolution, it only changes the data size and format. You have to warn people, that this newer data format ist not handled well on some devices, especially older ones.
The second option is very cumbersome to do on every picture I take...
I came here to look how to change the resolution (pixel in horizontal and vertical) permanently.
When making pictures for websites and / or sales websites, large pictures are often not allowed, nor needed plus it will take SO much longer to upload them when you are on a slow connection.
Plus, since pictures are backed up, the backup will take more time as well.

Do we have to change the size for every photo we take?

What a waste of time video. We do not want to shoot in HEIF (or any other) format, we do not want to manipulate each photo after capture (and there are plenty of apps for that, including PS), we just want to shoot in a lower resolution; isn't that what your title called for???? (and as usual I am always bamboozled by the amount of people who say wow on any post)

Wow. This is such great help for me. When I post some of my pictures however, they are appearing blurry when I adjust the resolution. Is this normal? I am also have problems with most of my images appearing to have a grey tone background. I have adjusted for background colour, brightness, etc. but it does not help. The S21 is supposed to be known for its great pictures but mine for some reason have grey hues. Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

That's not helpful at all. They should have at least offered batch-resizing in the Gallery, or rather offer camera resolution settings as in previous versions of Androd!

What the heck . . . @0:30 I do not have that Picture Formats option. It's driving me crazy. It's the only reason I'm searching for a way to set the resolution. And yes, I have a Galaxy S205G

It's a shame there's no settings in the camera to adjust the resolution of your photos

One of the most ridiculous "updates" ever.

What was the purpose of removing the option inside the camera app.... one might think they'd want you maxing out your storage to start seriously contemplating bigger capacity
