OBS vs Xsplit Broadcaster: Who is King of the Stream?

If you're a Twitch streamer, streaming can be a big business on today's internets (or just a fun hobby), so we've decided to compare OBS and Xsplit Gamecaster to see which is the King of the Streams. We compare them by performance, customizability, audio and video quality, and that all-important matter of pricing.

I can confirm that for i7 9750H/RTX2060 I don't lose frames using XSplit Broadcaster 720p compared to even a really optimized Streamlabs OBS 720p.

As a *Premium Lifetime* License Owner of Xsplit Broadcaster I can tell you that I did buy Xsplit for it's stability and ease of use but since my initial purchase I seem more and more getting towards OBS and it's *MASSIVE IMPROVEMENTS* it has gone under in the last few years. Sadly it's _still_ not up to par with Xsplit in terms of Stability and massive bugs they have. The software still buggy but the future of OBS looks very, very promising. I have 5960X CPU and OBS used to lag and Destroy my recordings while Xsplit sailed like king with virtually no hiccups.. But times are changing! and OBS surely will be taking the lead later on. Nothing-beats free, and when mixed with love and passion, you get amazing product.
- I love Ducking Feature in OBS. Love the Filters/compressors/gain etc.. and much more.

I'm not regretting my purchase of Xsplit at all. Their software is stable and *much less* CPU hungry than OBS and they could turn the table around with some killer features if they find them. (or add filters and compressors, so you can use them..they're really useful!)

One thing I've noticed in Xsplit is that the coloring of my final videos are slightly off and even when I check the *Full Dynamic Range* checkbox they're still the same so that kinda tells me that Xsplit might be reducing rendering power by lowering color render.. LESS CPU load :\. Don't know.

I've using the latest Xsplit and Obs 24.0.3 right now and I can't deny it, I'm really enjoying it.

I do not think you setup OBS correctly. I have both xsplit and OBS studio also trialled SLOBS for 6 months. OBS wins hands down! low CPU and GPU when setup correctly! Xsplit might make the stream look a little clearer out of the box, but this is only down to advanced colour settings pre-build. OBS Studio has it all, filters galore. If your a streamer that is not willing to learn OBS studio and just go for the easy limited option, then maybe streaming is not the business for you.

There is a difference between XSplit Gamecaster and Broadcaster. Please ensure you use the proper name to describe the proper program. Also Xsplit has ALWAYS had the 60fps function, but it's a paid option unless you are alright with the Xsplit logo watermark being in all your vids. You can even set interger values just like in OBS. Not sure if you've used XSplit a lot, but there's a lot of misinformation you're talking in regards to both programs.

This guy seems very into XSplit, but I gotta be honest, him saying "Because OBS is a community driven program" got annoying, XSplit is a paid version of what you already get in OBS, and if thats not good enough, StreamLabs OBS has all what OBS has and More!

I had the beta version of XSplit and loved it over OBS, hands down. However, when they went out of beta to release and wanted me to pay them, I immediately went to OBS. I'd gladly go back to XSplit if it was free or even just less expensive than it is.

I only stream for fun and to burn through data when renewal is close. I get barely more than 10 viewers on my streams.

Xsplit was very easy to learn. I tried OBS and SLOBS after a few months of using Xsplit, and I was lost. It was also very slippery. Seemed too complex.

I'am not from here, as a English person, but i disagree Xsplit was better than OBS, i've made Lives in YT, and the quality is not clear, the imagen destroy while i'm moving in the minecraft, and just in case i dont have the premium xsplit.

If you are using obs then you need 16gb of ram

How do I put it. I ONLY WANT a screen recorder. Now normal OBS is good for that. Well it just records a black screen for some reason.It's also confusing… There was this screen recorder EzVid. It gives me 20 fps on the recordings but I don't get 20 in game.

OBS is fully free and has the best performance on modern hardware with current versions of OBS.. I think this review is far too biased.
