TasmoAdmin in Home Assistant. Use the Sonoff S31 flashed with Tasmota.

PART 2 of the series- TasmoAdmin. Use the newly flashed S31 plug with Tasmota in Home Assistant. We go through the relevant settings to allow use of the plug as well as display of the power monitoring that comes along with the plug and firmware.

As I mentioned in Part 1 of the video, this isn't new to the Home Assistant or Home Automation world, but a refresh might be helpful to some, so I though I'd put this little series together. Enjoy!

Thanks this really helped me to understand how to integrate.

@12:41 The "Protect from powering off" feature is actually very useful especially if you're using a plug solely for power monitoring. I accidentally switched off one of my desktops because I wasn't paying attention to which button I was clicking... Not that big of a deal since it probably needed to be rebooted anyway, but if a freezer was turned off and not noticed...

Thanks for the video! I had one problem with home assistant - you have to use the local IP address to home assistant for tasmota, the duck.dns did not work when opening the UI.

Chris this was right on time since I just received 4 Tasmota flashed plugs, I have the first one loaded up and I can see it in HA but everything is unavailable, I can control it thru Tasmota admin so I know it works, did I miss a step

Is there any way to sort columns? For example, to sort by name or by IP address.

This saved me a lot of time setting up tasmoadmin. My Tasmota devices are showing up in the tasmoadmin web ui and can be controlled from there. Also the tasmota devices are showing up in the mqtt integration tool and can be controlled from there. Unfortunately they aren't showing up under the tasmota integration tool! Any ideas?

Problem I'm having is I get all the way up to the clicking on the webui button and it won't load... blank page.

I finally got around and followed your Tasmota guide and setup TasmoAdmin too. Unfortunately TasmotaAdmin caused my Sonoff S31 switches to continually crash. On Tasmota's Github discussions and Reddit, it seems TasmoAdmin is not recommended - it is known to cause issues with Tasmota devices and can cause lock ups and soft reboots...

I have S40 Type A plug and it is not supported by Tasmota. If I buy S31 version, can I remove the ground prong at the back? My outlet here is only 2 prong.

From what I've read, ESPhome works with this plug also. Any advice on why to use one over the other? I have no experience with MQTT and am somewhat concerned to go down that road.

Is TasmoAdmin broke with latest updates? I'm getting this error: when trying to open the webUI... I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. everything is updated.

I have a Sonoff Basic R2. I got it to flash and all but when I went to add it to home assistant I was able to get TasmoAdmin on but I open the web UI and all I get is "Failed to open page" is that because I'm running my home assistant on a raspberry pi with a DNS server?

Would you happen to know the difference or when one would want to use the setoption19 1 and use the MQTT integration to find the plug, or leave setoption19 0 and let the tasmota integration find it? With all my others, I did the setoption19 1 and had MQTT see it under devices. But I forgot to do that with my S31 plug and it showed up under the tasmota integration.... thoughts ? I still configured the MQTT in the S31, so who knows?

What is your opinion when naming best practices for devices/entities. should you include tasmota or esphome in the naming? would this help troubleshoot a device to know what integration you used?

Is the Sonoff S31 more reliable with TASMOTA?
