Artwork of the Month: Panathenaic Prize Amphora

Instead of gold medals, the athletes of the Panathenaic Games in Athens, Greece, received olive oil in these illustrious prize amphora. Not only are these jars artistically skillful, but they were used to store prized olive oil from the groves sacred to the goddess Athena.
