Closing your hand for a lower pitch, and then opening it for a higher pitch is a really great technique. Glad to learn about this—it should come in useful for future recordings.

The classic egg shaker is a bad ass percussive powerhouse! (I also like the ones with smaller pellets for a softer, warmer sound.) Was just thinking, give me syncopated rimshots with a good shaker-groove and I don't need much else! Btw this guy is the Jimi Hendrix of egg shakers, well done sir!!

The egg shaker sounds similar to my LP finger shots that I put on my hands to play bongos & congas having shakers on your hands for I tend to go for that more since I can see myself losing myself in a dance groove just sitting down playing bongos & congas & dropping the egg shaker so good thing for finger shots by LP!
