When I was a child (35 yrs ago) I used to visit my auntie nelly in Monaghan, Ireland every summer. She farmed dairy cows and I would sit on top of the metal gate at the top of the field just like this and sing any old crap. The cows would slowly walk up the field and stand around me in a circle listening to me singing any old crap. Adorable! x

What if they want to be near the person singing, because it reminds them of their calf, that was taken away...
That is how dairy happens.
Making the cow pregnant, and then taking the calf away, max. 48 hours after it arrived. The cow now has milk for its calf, but now gets milked, instead of having its young by its side.
I am not writing the words "mom" and "baby", since I want to keep this on a serious level. But yes, that is, what happens.
Breeder dairy cows only last 8-9 years, but if they were to be living in the wild, they would reach almost 18 years.
