something weird happened on our narrowboat

Hello! We’re back on the move and finally leaving Banbury after all the flooding drama. We had a lovely time, but there were a few things that happened off camera that were simply ✨TOO WEIRD✨ for you to miss, so we have to fill you in (but seriously, I need to know what you would have done if someone knocked on your boat at midnight and asked to sleep over!)
Once we’re all caught up on recent events, we continue our cruise south towards Oxford and it’s SO nice to be back in the countryside.

Next time we’re absolutely spoiled for pretty views and end up in a gorgeous village. See you then 😘

Hiya, I'm Kris. At the end of 2022 I moved from a flat in London to live, work, and travel full time around the UK on a 70ft narrowboat with my boyfriend Andrew and our cat Matilda.

Weird couple probably knocked in the middle of the night to see if anyone was home . . . hoping no one was home, and they could burgle. Since you answered, they made up a weird story. My own stupid theory. Another fun vid! TY!

Youve both put me right off Banbury
Those premier inn people sounded so dodgy.. and the aplience shop! 😬😱
With exeption of the pigeon thing..
I had a pet pigeon once. It adopted me.. flew into my kitchen and refused to leave for many weeks!
It wintered with me
I learnt alot about her.. what to feed her ect
In the spring she found a mate and then brought her babies to see me
Was rather sweet 💕

Kris, so good to see you so confident on the back of the boat. You have come a long way since the beginning and you must be very proud of yourself. I hope Andrew is teaching you the mechanics of the engine also. Living in London must be a very distant memory. That scary decision to leave the comfort of your flat to canal boat life must now seem like the best decision you ever made.

Been binging your videos. I am rarely moved to comment on YT, but this time I’m moved to do so. It was 1975 just 50 years ago. The country was so very different then. If we can imagine this country in 50 years from now, no doubt the changes will be huge. Your videos are beautifully observed vignettes of the now. They provide insite into life in the towns and villages of Britain which are ignored in media. You don’t see slices of life in Rugby, Banbury or Braunstone generally. But we do here. I’m certain that people will look at this content in years to come and see it as a beautifully considered record of the UK in the 2020’s. I don’t know you obviously, but if you ever doubt yourself, or the point of all the time you must take making this content for no financial reward, don’t. It’s important. It’s special. Keep it going for as long as you feel you want to. It is appreciated.

Gotta say as a Canadian with no canals nor narrow boats I’m extremely jealous of the peaceful free looking life. Got home from work and watched like 3 or 4 hours of your channel.
I could totally picture just sitting and sketching the landscape. Just beautiful places over there!! Love your content.
That duck and the baby duckling in the loch was cute one. Glad Andrew and you got it free.

Definitely amongst the best videography on Youtube - a pleasure to watch. I enjoyed the across the fence natter/banter which added a sense of being on board. Your channel inculcates a cosy warmth.

Easy way to tell if it was Jesus - did they knock on the porthole dockside or waterside? 😉 Another beautiful video. That very last shot of the moonlit canal is stunning.

Next time, one of you should ring premier and see if they are full or any hotel if they use that as an excuse, they could have been randomly trying boats to find an empty one

I think the diversity and change of scenery is wonderful. Even the rural areas.

Pigeons are interesting creatures. When my son abandoned his homing pigeons, my duagrhter took them over...i came home from work one day to find quite a few of them lined up lying on their backs on the patio. Thinking something davastating had happenend...i questioned her...dog attack perhaps? Apparently not. She had discovered that by rubbing some spot on the backs of their feet, she could put them into a stupor. She was looking to see how many she could catch and put under in one go. All grownup now she is still an avid dog and cat owner. All from shelters or found roaming. Cats will turn up, hoping for a vacancy. We won't mention her favourite pigeon, which she used to bring indoors to watch TV with. Yeah I can fully see her patting a pigeon.

I love this channel so much. I feel like Kristina, Andrew and Matilda are my family. I’m seriously considering traveling from the U.S. just to go to Braunston Bakes and the craft swap shop in Banbury. I might have to re-watch all the videos again from start while I wait for the next installment. Thank you for putting your lives and creativity out there for the rest of us who wish to live vicariously. Give my best to Matilda.
