Excellent video. Original owner of a 2001 Bullitt myself and I love it today as much as I did when I drove it off the showroom floor nearly 22 years ago.

Regarding the Traction Control System, don't forget, rear braking is also a part of that system.

2001 Bullitt TCS
The system operates by detecting and controlling wheel spin. The system borrows many of the electronic and mechanical elements already present in the anti-lock braking system (ABS). Wheel-speed sensors allow excess rear wheel spin to be detected by the Traction ControlABS computer. Any excessive wheel spin is controlled by automatically applying and releasing the rear brakes in conjunction with engine torque reductions. Engine torque reduction is realized via the fully electronic spark and fuel injection systems. This process is very sensitive to driving conditions and very fast acting. The rear wheels "search" for optimum traction several times a second and adjustments are made accordingly.

Great video Justin. As for the plugged boss on the intake manifold, early Bullitts were not fitted with the heated PCV system. A production change was made to ensure that the PCV valve would not experience water vapor freezing in the line during low temperature operations. Later models like TB3250 built on 6/29/2001 were fitted with a PVC valve that has a coolant line attached to it. Coolant circulates from a tee in one of the heater hoses, around the PCV valve, and into the manifold to keep the system from freezing up. As a result of this running change, many later built Bullitt owners like myself carry a spare heater hose tee fitting in the car as they are know to fail and make a heck of a mess when the fail. You can read more about this over at IMBOC. Keep up the great work.

I just checked my Bullitt #64 and was built on April 2001, it has the plugged intake. I never knew that. I also need to get my extra sticker. The one placed on the strut tower has faded away completely. I know for a fact it is the original sticker due to the 5 digit number. Anyway, great vid Pal and I'm happy to see these cars getting all the love they deserve...

Only been watching for a few years I think a few months in 2018 before I picked up my r code in April of 2019, but I’ve loved every video. What a joy to have a place to learn about these cars. My r code isn’t anything special, it’s an ow so that’s cool I suppose but it’s an early 03 so it’s a 4 thread car but I saved it. It was a part out with rod knock and a salvage title. Over the past few years I’ve sourced the original parts that were missing like the Mach one seats and wheels etc, feels good to be back to stock, however this won’t last. Through your videos I’ve come to learn so much about all the little differences ford offered on these cars, inspiring me to find them for my own car. I think it’s cool the Mach 1 got the same c pillar covers so I picked up some bullitt side scoops to match. I found a deal on some ambers and a cobra front bumper, admittedly still undecided whether or not I’ll run it, I love it but I think it’ll change the look of the car too much from being a recognizable r code and not just another fobra. My real excitement comes from the 35th anniversary wing and side skirts I’ve found, I have the wheels too but it’s the same story with the front bumper. I know my build is not to everyone’s taste, most people I think find it silly to put so much work into putting a car together like this but it’s what I’ve found so much joy in. I have a few more things left on the list, the folding mirrors maybe, maybe the 10th Anniversary wheel, I have the Mach 1000 trunk set up but still looking for the head unit. I think I’ll lose a lot of people with the roush stuff, and even more when it comes time to reveal the interior swap I’ve chosen….perhaps different but in my eyes this will be the best of what ford had to offer 94-04. Thank you for everything you’ve built for our community, hopefully when I’m done rebuilding the motor and redoing the interior and exterior bits you’ll think it’s cool. Either way no hard feelings I appreciate your affinity for oem originality just the same, but I do hope to catch you one day on a cruise. Keep up the good work!

These cars for some reason have been overlooked as being as special as they are. Most people just think of them as a glorified GT and nothing more.It is such a rarity to see them in pristine shape, cars like this will only survive if their value goes up. For those who still think this might be to much money, well they probably never saw the value to begin with.

I believe a lot of the 99-04 non run of the mill GT and up models will continue to raise in value.

Any idea as to why fender gaps and wheel fitment were so bad on 94-04 Mustangs? These cars are so good-looking when they are lowered and with wheels on them with a flush fitment.

Wow, that's a great price! Beautiful car! I agree on the wheels. They don't look right. I like the Mach front spoiler on it, looks cool!

Mine is #5253 and it was built on 8/15/01. Interesting about the PVC tube on the later cars. Never knew that. I would love to get my extra decal, my 1st attempt I got nowhere last year. think I just need to find an enthusiast service manager that will work with me.

I bet it's rock chips on the hood. my 2001 #4600 is insanely chipped with only 16, 000 miles on it.

What kind of wheels do you have on your bullitt?

Way overpriced imo. A few very low mileage bullitts on eBay in the 30s just sitting forever.
