Cute little things. As a kid, I once caught one and put it in a little bug cage. Next morning when I woke up and went over to say hello, it was flat out dead.

I remember crying about it for a majority of the day, until my dad somehow calmed me down by telling me that Mayflies, for some reason are just born mouthless, and can’t eat anything at all, unfortunately always dying of starvation/dehydration.

so no matter what, them existing is basically a fucked up mystery and tragedy
