The British public have been supportive of assisted dying for decades. The support is here. The evidence is clear. It's time for Parliament to get on with it, and enact the will of the people, and respect the choice of terminally ill and incurably suffering people.

The Health and Social Care Committee’s report on assisted dying has been published today. Humanists UK has welcomed the evidence-based nature of the report, but expressed disappointment that the committee missed the opportunity to draw firm conclusions or recommend specific changes to the law.

We have no choice in how we come into this world, we should have a choice in how we leave this world.

🤔 As a humanist l fully support the opportunity to decide how my life should come to an end. My life. Not anyone else’s decision. And certainly not from those fear mongers who object on pseudo religious grounds. In any such scheme there would be clear conditions before it took place. My life 💐. My choice 💐.
