So glad you reacted to this song. It shows the spirituality of Jim Morrison. He believed his soul was akin to a Native American, who had entered his body as a spirit guide when he was a young boy when he had witnessed a gruesome car accident. Alot of his poems were attributed to that experience. This song was never a single or a chart topper, but it's cool to get into the "trip" you mentioned. The Lizard King and The Doors don't disappoint.✌

I almost always listen to this song immediately after listening to The End. There's no way to just return to normal life after going on the dark journey that is The End. My Wild Love is my shaman Jim guiding me back through the realms of darkness to sanity. I love the clapping in the song as well. Ancient practice of warding off negative energy.
