1923 Season 3: Major Update on The Dutton Family Tree! (2025)

1923 has ended and it definitely affected the Dutton family tree, which is something we’ve been theorizing about for years. Right now, Spencer and Alex’s son, John seems to be John the third’s grandfather, but here’s the thing: From what we know, Spencer’s son is the 3rd generation, whereas we know for a fact that John the third, played by Kevin Costner is the 5th. So what about the 4th generation, like what happened in between? Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?

It’s super easy guys. Spencer and Alex’s baby is costners father. Costner is portrayed to be 70ish and from 1924 it lines what the baby would be in his late 20’s early 30’s in the 1950’s

Jacob was not fatally injured in Season 1 or 2 of 1923, that would mean he's dead. He was seriously wounded for sure, but he didn't die.

Obviously, nobody has paid attention to Elsa’s narrative in Season 1 Episode 1 after Spencer kills the lion. There in that narrative is the clue that John Dutton (Costner) is Spencer’s grandson.

But he didn't kill Beth, the weak, lunatic and just crazy woman. What's up with that? I loved all of them, but sometimes, is just too much of a soap opera.
