Nice instructional video, Some observations: drill your holes at a slight downward slope to the outside (the second hole is a sure way to get rainwater down the inside wall). Water does not run uphill. Pulling a vacuum with an uncapped Schrader valve is a nono. They are spring pressure and will open up; they are made to seal with inside pressure to push them closed. Attaching your vac gauge/micron gauge at the furthest point from your vacuum pump is better practice and eliminates that leaking schrader problem. Gas flow in a vacuum is so slow you have a higher reading on the far end of the system. Vacuum from the largest pipe port will evacuate even faster. It's why you use those fancy vacuum hoses with bigger diameters for faster vacuum. Still a tidy job, and it is better than what most do.

Great video, I'm a new homeowner and looking to install a 4 zone mini split unit. I'm pretty handy but not familiar installing units but you videos are giving me a lot of confidence. Great video man. Thank you for your time, highly appreciated 🙏👍

I always learn something new from your videos. In this case about the concrete coring tool and rental from Home Depot. Also about the caulking gun.
I share these with my brother too.
Keep them coming, I watch with anticipation.

You’re the first person I see using the flare seals. Nice work and cheap insurance vs having a leakage.

Service tech here, that head is way too tight in the corner, this will be an issue if any components on the head unit ever need to be replaced. In the future I would try to leave a bit of clearance on the right side where power comes in so you can access and remove the boards if necessary

Thank you so much for this video! I'm a single parent in Alaska and just installed a heat pump by myself! Not much need for AC here, so I skipped the refrigerant, but looking forward to the heat since my furnace died!!

Not quite sure why u cut off the factory flare fittings for the shark bite style fittings. I only use the shark bite fittings if I'm in a pinch. The factory fittings will give u a superior connection.

Very well done! Like that you perform vacuum procedure without Schrader core, even though I saw a Fieldpiece digital manifold gauge hanging around.

Enjoy your videos. Always hold the stationary fitting with a wrench while you tighten the flare nut.

Mitsubishi and Daikan are Japanese designed zoned HVAC systems. However, Daiken is assembled in Texas and was having serious quality issues when they moved their plant from Taiwan to the US. I chose to install a Mitsubishi system due to this issue of quality control. Mitsubishi has teamed up with Trane/American Standard in the US.

I live in Las Vegas. Put this Daikin 36K BTU dual zone system in 2 rooms. This unit is amazing. However, parts and installation cost me $14, 000. One room has a 2 ton head unit and the second room has 1.5.
