Note that there's still a place and importance for overlay transitions as well. And I'll create a separate video for that as well (hopefully).

I had no idea the basic functions used the same concept of naming determining when something animates. This will def help. Thanks.

thanks for this video :) im wondering what do you think of the ease in and ease out settings? When would you use ease in? When would you use ease out?

it depends on what exactly the overlay is being used for a book app for example where everytime you tap on a book cover thumbnail a pop up card appears with the books details, every single book is different and has different details hence a master component prototyped as an overlay would be better and way less work.

4:21, easy if you make the home icon and its variants, so it will not move as well, right?

I've never watched tutorial videos for figma, but being a photoshop user, I already got hang of the design and it's a good experience apart from some really stupid drawbacks (fonts mainly).
But for advanced prototyping I'm trying to learn something new, although I already know what this guy is trying to say specifically in this video because the terminologies in figma already make a lot of sense. I think people should read and explore their software interfaces to discover some things themselves and develop their individual process.
Cheers to Asaad though! He knows his stuff and I hope to learn the same from more of his valuable resources.

This is not an insult-- I'm going to be straight up with you, the white signature on your hat kind of looks like a bird poop graphic. Love this tutorial tho!

I'm sure this is very valuable, but he was clicking so fast, I could not really get the whole process, which screen goes to which and ahhh this is not for a beginners I guess. I'll come back later lol

You made this incredibly confusing to someone who's just starting out :D

I don't get it...isn't it the same as the other way around? Let's say you want to change the title Header to something else, don't you have to change it in both frames?

Don't understand simply the 1st step...can you please simplify it bit more

Really? I don't use smart animation often, instead configure based on what I want to achieve. But I couldn't find something useful in this video here. The essence is just you can do better than smart animate by configuring other options but this video doesn't have enough justification to prove that. So basically a waste of your time.

Good information presented with too much arrogance. Talk less about how little everyone else knows about prototyping compared to you and just get into the valuable lesson.
