Love how you innocently talk about the stolen watch, It's sad but it's a reality, If you leave your things unattended there's only a slim chance that you won't get robbed... specially if it's something as expensive as that watch. I hope it wasn't of any sentimental significance to his loved ones cause they'll probably never see it again, it could've been anyone, from the police to the hotel staff, even the paramedics.
