Crusher @ Hallett - Miata lap record

1:25.286 I think Prather went faster in the EP car but I sorta count those different.
Sept 15, 2012 at the tenth and final Miatas at Hallett event. 225/45/15 NT01's. Otherwise same spec as PTC nationals.

FP Miatas are ~155whp and 2175lbs, EP cars are ~190-200 and honestly cant remember weight. I was in the low 1:29s Friday afternoon in the STL car, chasing an ignition/fuel problem.

This was discussed over at trackjunkies, as well! My take is that your lines would be awful in my car (low-powered, non-aero Miata), but Crusher isn't my car. There's no one line that works for every car or for every driver. And you're absolutely right, the "established" line is sometimes not the best line. I'll admit that I am skeptical of the lines you're taking and would like to test them in Crusher myself, but if you say you have data both ways, you have the credibility to be believed...

Figured as much. Pretty happy with the 25.3 then having medium compound DOT tires (NT01), a roof, an extra 250lbs and about 15whp less than an FP car. They're making 170whp or so? EP are up around 185-190whp last I heard. We dynoed at 158whp at Ohio (NASA nats) the week prior. Best guess with 225 A6's would be maybe 1.5s faster that day. Is it just me or are 1.6 FP Miatas faster than 1.8 EP Miatas at Hallett?

Just curious , did y'all rent the track that day? I don't see other cars anywhere. Some friends and I have been kicking around the idea of renting for a day. At 1, 500$ for a whole day a bargain for 5 drivers

The line seemed to work pretty good for me. Data also showed my line, while not what everyone else does, is faster. Do you have data showing the traditional line is faster compared to mine? This kind of comment is something I'm accustomed to and I get a chuckle out of it. Just because everyone else does it a particular way, doesn't mean it's right. Gotta think outside of the box.
