That's how I've been tying my posts for several years now. It's by far my favorite method

Beautiful. Have a special place in my heart for this fly since it was what I used to catch my first trout on a dry fly. Turned out to be a perfect match for the little sulpher dun hatch going on that day in eastern PA.

I've been watching you for a long time and just tried your tip on tying parachutes with the hackle down and tying up . What a tip. Took a couple of times doing it and I just tied an 18 bwo like that and the trout love it. Thanks for all the great tips

I’m a bit concerned Tim… this is an excellent tie with all of your trade styles, and an excellent video (Thank you JF), however it was such a seamless smooth tying video that you may need to back it down a notch or Tom and Cheech won’t go up against you anymore in the tying contest. One of my favorites in the past 14 years. Nice work!

Hi Tim. What can you say? Always a quality video production and resulting fly pattern. You certainly do make each step seem easier than it may be. But practice sure helps especially with your parachute techniques. Very impressive Tim.

Beautiful. I like how the furled post helps create a taper on both sides of the post.

A lot of people are doing hackle stacks with flexi floss these days. I’d love to see your creative spin on the method. As well as some other applications.

Not having a large Dunkin Donut Coffee Cup in styrofoam makes it very incovenant at the fly-tying desk. Love the little tricks. It's that time of year. The Dog Days will be here soon enough. And then September and the glorious fall.

Beautiful fly. Chop and change ready. Use different tailing materials, different colour dubbing, stripped herl or biot and pick your hackle to match all manner of flies. Maybe even use a klinkhammer hook and swap the tail for some Antron as a shuck or just a silver tag to give the impression of a nymph skin starting to shed…

Is there any chance you could do a tying video on the Letort Hopper? I would love to see your take on the pattern, as I see foam hoppers take over the scene. Again, great video as always! Been a fan since 2012!

I should have bought one of those right bobbins years ago. They are expensive now. Was that spinner fall filmed in NJ. What, when, where jeesh.

Is it better to wrap away from you or twards you? Or is it more personal preference?
