I wish they would bring back war stories. I get tired of playing on teams that just all go 1 way and get steamrolled. But that's been the way for 7 years now

To be completely honest, while many people dislike cold war for the true vision and other aspects. I personally like cold war because true vision, no artillery, and so on. Ive always like true vision because it is annoying playing a soviet heavy and having a tank 20 inches in front of you behind a bush be completely invisible, even its muzzle flash. In cold war you can at least see the muzzle flash and maybe even the barrel sticking out of a bush.

You "think" new players...
True story: My son invited a friend from school to play WoT. They're 12. My son coached him about what tank in WWII to start with. They played 1 battle and his friend deleted the game. After a few days a pleading his friend gave it another try, but they played Cold War. He enjoyed this more and now play together on occasion.

Me personally still going with ww2 in this dilemma. Maybe for a new player I would recommend the Co op mode for a few games to learn how to aim and handle very basic skills, then join in ww2 to learn the mechanics of the game!

WW2 is much new player friendly, easier to grind, more options, and more fun in general. Cold War is really for the people who have every tank in ww2 and want some more grinding. Personally, I’m about the grind. Once I get my tier 10, I play a few battles and forget about it.

Once CW released I grinded for months to get to the top era but after that going back to WWII was jarring, I'm barely getting good again in WWII.

As a new player who played ww2 4 years ago I really enjoy playing Cold War. It’s faster and you can have fun with zooming around the map and getting into into new positions. I still switch over to ww2 when I want a slower paced game and enjoy the wide range of tank classes. Both focus on different aspects which are complimentary in nature.

I like cold war much better but they keep messing it up with things like the Armiadilo and now the OP British lights in era 1. I think New players should work tier 3 thru 5 for 500 games at least. Hard to say but they have to keep New players out of tier 9-12 the lopsided 2 minutes battles are awful and basically the norm currently.

I stated playing last may, the G.I. Joe season was the first pass I bought. I already had the 2000g.
I knew nothing about it and jumped into CW first. Played it for a couple days and tried ww2. Didn't understand the magic disappearing tanks or why I was getting one shoted from across the map. 10-15 matches in a role of getting artillery dropped on me. Then the +2-2 with me at the bottom every match? No thank you. True vision is reality. Every other combat type game I play has true vision. I play ww2 a lil but its mostly a museum for all the premium teir 8 tanks I get from the season pass.

Personally I think WW2 is becoming harder and harder to develop new content for. Yes there are a few more prototypes etc out there but I think genuinely they have exhausted genuine produced and real world tanks. We've been getting re skinned, made up and prototypes for a long time which shows what's going on... For the game to keep relevant and exist the game needs a new approach. That approach came in the shape of CW. The modes would have been integrated if WW2 adopted true vision. Since it was declined it wasn't possible to integrate it. For these modern tanks they are in game and out in the real world designed to be hunter killers at greater ranges. The mechanic of WW2 wouldn't work with that in mind. Personally CW is the game mode for me yes the variety isn't as much as WW2 as expected with it being relatively new but I genuinely enjoy the mode and it's variety. I do feel that with the implementation of lights specially in the British lines missed some opportunities for some good tanks to be put in though. The FV102 striker would of been a great addition for ATGMs and the Warrior should have definitely made it in at top of the lights branch. I believe we will see ERA 4 which will be current vehicles and maybe even expand later on into an ERA 5 for planned production Prototypes such as Challenger 3 etc. With the addition of modern tanks there is less need to make up tanks such as the mercenary tanks, hot wheels, or whatever the nameless and edelweiss were. Modern and current tanks are constantly updating and developing which opens us up to alot more future development which strengthens WG's long term plan to keep the game going. Without this your gonna be getting re skins and pretend tanks constantly. A large majority of complaints revolve around faulty spotting or camo mechanics. If everyone is visible these mechanics are irrelevant and won't become a factor. I do think that spotting for CW should be down to the player now though. If your in a light tank and see a tank in the distance. You should be able to highlight it with a rangefinder for your team. For heavys tanks it should have the spotting as normal.

I subscribed at the start of the video simply because of your voice. The amount of youtubers that cover wot console and have a good voice to listen to are few and far between. I know it seems kinda weird, but you have a good voice to listen to. Please keep making this content, it's really hard to find sometimes.

The true vision makes a lot of campers, the speed makes for hectic gameplay. The game mode is still fun but aggravating at times just like in WW2. Era 2 is screwed cause every match theres 10 FV4211s so I like to stay in era 1 and 3. OH! and it gives you a ton of silver. I've been playing since this was on xbox360, this is a nice addition you just have to find the right tank and right era for you.

I took a multi year hiatus from this game because I just got burnt out on the constant grind. I came back just before the re-introduction of contracts last year. My plan at the time was to grind some lines and tank types that I really hadn't focused on before. I tried CW and at first didn't really like it and the cost in silver really makes it hard for someone new to break into CW. Fortunately I had more than enough silver to get started with CW but still wanted to focus on WWII. That changed when contracts came back because the contracts are structured to pretty much force a casual player like me to play CW 90% of the time due to the increased damage which makes fulfilling a contract more expedient. I've grown to like CW over the last few months, but I wish contracts were structured in a more balanced way so I could also play WWII more.

5 year veteran player here and I play both. I like both modes because they are different. I have never been a fan of artillery thus I gravitate more towards CW and the silver is better. They are in conflict with each other as they are separated queues, however the new game mode has brought in newer players and breathed new life into the game. Many of these newer players then do play both game modes which is ultimately better for the health and longevity of the game that many of us enjoy.

My Pros of each mode

Cold War
1. Silver earning in this mode is definitely worth playing if your broke or need a quick silver gain
2. The modern tanks are cool in many aspects, mainly the snappy and quick feeling they have when playing them
3. The mode has no artillery, although the missiles aren't much better in some aspects
4. Lots of low tier players if your one of those people who like to farm newbies
5. Pass seems to be mainly focused on giving more OP CW premiums so if your a CW player the pass is a good deal

WW2 (Base Game Mode)
1. It's the mode we all knew when playing OG WoT. It's not something that can be replaced. It has a certain feel that CW doesn't really replicate
2. While artillery are annoying, they are included in a wide variety of different playstyles and tank classes. More than just Heavies and Lights running around most of the time
3. The lack of True Vision is a plus. Personally feel that TV promotes too much bad gameplay and long range gameplay instead of using each vehicle to its best ability.
4. The difference in higher and lower tiers fighting against each other is much less broken than CW. CW higher Era vehicles absolutely stomp eras below them
5. The OPs and merc contracts add an extra grind if that's something your into. More incentive to play a variety of tanks and earn things in this mode rather than just buy and play the most broken new tank like is often seen in CW (aka. FV4211)

I could get into the cons but that would take ages to type lol

Great vid Eclipse 👌

Been playing WW2 5+ year not even clicked on the CW tab & don't want it forced on me.

I’m still going for the challenger 2 tank line anyway, I know it might take years to get to era 3 but I’ll wait patiently.

Both modes have their pro's and con's. I personally got tired of the matchmaking in WW2 it became a pain when grinding different tech tree lines. With cold war it's also a pain grinding tanks I already had in WW2. Anymore the game has become a pay to win game. Like I've said before Wargaming need to phase both modes together. I like the true vision because it sucks in WW2 getting hit by tanks that you can't see but you know they're there. I've had tanks just magically pop-up when I've just been shooting where they're at and missing.

Cold War hands down. Match making is better. Realism via true vision is better so I can focus on other skills than optics all the time. Silver gain is higher. I haven’t played WW2 since Cold War came out. Will not return till WW2 becomes plus one minus one. Only thing WW2 has is variety. Also u can’t be one shot by arty in Cold War. Been on for 3+ yrs now and I love Cold War mode. However missiles take place of arty but it’s a better game mechanic and a bit more fun than arty bullshit in WW2. And also I’m glad they separated the two cause no WW2 tank could hold up to Cold War tanks. So in my opinion WW2 will only be good or better than Cold War after wargaming implement +1-1 and true vision. Cold War is new with already a decent variety. Give it same time as WW2 and there will probably be more variety. Cold War hands down. Lastly almost everything a tier 8 and above is Cold War era anyway and is regularly +2-2 matches. At least in Cold War you get to top of each tier u get a break and since of accomplishment.

Both modes have there merits unfortunately it does not appear to tell players the difference between the modes either true vision or hide outside a vision circle mode.
Each to there own both enjoyable.
Been playing for 4+ years prefer cw mode due the spotting mechanics and i like to play light tanks so not as good in that respect no passive spotting anymore.
