Been a filmriot fan for years but slowly finding them less good. You are my new filmriot. You are to the point and working on a scale that I can imagine getting to if I work hard for the next few years, and therefore it is much more useful. Thank you!

Good video again.
If I may, I would suggest two 32GB cards instead of four 16GB. Strangely enough, you'll get more shots on a 32 than with two 16. When we get at the end of a card we often stop a few minutes before busting, to avoid loosing a shot. If you do that at every end of a card well you may loose 2 to 5 takes each times. So on four 16GB it may represent 20 takes less. I know because I have two 16 and one 32 and I would change my two 16GB for a 32GB anytime. We learn from our mistakes.
Just saying.

+Oli Shafto   Any quick release adapters will work on anything that you can put a camera on, including manfrotto plates.

1) blackmagic pocket cinema camera or Panasonic g7 (if you need more lenses) + cheap micro 4/3 lenses = 1500$

2)zoom h5 + video mic pro - 500$ - 550$

3)lighting - 1000$

4)tripod, slider, jib, videoheads etc - 2000$

this sounds good

Great video Simon! very well thought about! Please do a 10, 000 and maybe a 15, 000 dollar FM kit as it would be interesting to see what you would pick. :D

Wow, I saw all your video's in a list, and almost every video was something I was interested in! For example; I can't find that much information about editing desks or complete lighting kits, but your channel has everything! Beside, I haven't discovered many British filmaccounts, I think it's much better; just sounds so cool! Keep going like you are now, mate!

The Zoom H5 looks like an excellent portable recorder, shame I've already got the Tascam DR-40 otherwise I would upgrade. Definitely going to invest in some of this gear soon

youre the one with the experience and the 150k subs, but i think for 5000 a canon 70d would be a great camera, and you could still get a t3i and have room for audio and lighting

I like your videos a lot.  Lots of good info.   Your production quality on these is also very good... even down to graphics and text elements.

You know that's great abput the tripods and monopods but why not get a dual type tripod? There's a tripod made by Sunpak which you can remove the center coloum and extend it to have a monopod right out of a tripod. It's just something to consider in my opinion

I totally agree with what you say in all your videos(that you don't need an expensive camrea, and the audio, lighting, composition, storyline.etc..) is more important, but i do not agree with one thing. You should go a step forward with the camera. The 600D is a great camera but has its on limitations, which aren't important exept one, It has an SD slot, and SD is much slower and unsafe. You should take a step forward with the Filmmaking kit, at least with the 5000$ one to buy a camera that has a decent CF slot, much safer, and much faster, and speed is very important if you want quality. And DSLR video quality starts with Magic Lantern. You can raise the bitrates, but more important, if you record RAW video, you have the dynamic range of a Red Epic, or Alexa...for a fraction of the price.:). Keep up the good work mate! Really enjoying your videos!
