I would keep the shallow lagoon tank personally. You just don't get the top down viewing from any other type of tank.

I think a smaller tank brother. This will also allow your Xl palm to sprout out more it will make the room look bigger.

What's the goal of the room? Aside from being an office.
Do you want a reef tank focus, or a plants focus, or something else?

The humidity is easy. Running a dehumidifier would solve the humidity issues, get one with a hygrometer that auto turns on.

But the room's purpose/aesthetic is only something you can answerer. If you wanted a focus other than corals, then reducing that tank size would go along way. Personally, I'd keep that awesome lagoon just like it is, especially the work required to put it there in the first place. If you want to mix it up, you can always go with a theme rather than just a shallow mixed-reef.

I use cellotape to pull out the worm bristles, works well!

I think you should get a new tank Devin! Try out the new tanks like the aquaforest! Thats my dream tank 😂

Put some lids on the overflow and sump. I’m not sure if you got a screen on your tank but a screen could help if you get the ones that have a larger piece of acrylic around the rim. Then maybe work on better air exchange for the room. Your ph may drop. But who cares if you are not trying to push for ultimate growth.

Hood the tank! enclose it and put an air extractor on it. best decision I made. Hinged the canopy door from the celling so I've lost not access space.

What's that potent mix ratio for citric acid? I plan on moving some rocks around in my tank also and there's definitely some prickly critters lurking in there. lol

Leave it and add some frogspawn and hammer to fill it out.

what is your mixture/ratio for the citric acid bath if stung by a bristle worm?

Deal with the humidity. It’s an awesome tank

How is your pH during the winter in such a small room with that tank? I forget - are you using kalk or CO2 scrubbing media? How does your pH change with the window open?

Why not get an acrylic lid made to minimise evaporation.

I think a smaller tank would look better in there.

I think a fat cube would be nice, that tank is too large for the space to me personally.

Smaller tank for sure. That tank is way too big for that room.

I think a 4’ tank would be a better fit. Looks awesome tho!!!

Run a 4 ft tank. It's too big for the room.
