This is another great DIY, Aaron. I'll wait for a revisit to see if it stays dark. I have to do my 992 & 986 both. Thanx for sharing!

My neighbor does detailing as a 2nd job at home and That's when I got to see the heat gun treatment he did on interior parts. He said it will work for awhile on the outside, but the cure for the interior parts was the manufacturers using UV protection in the window glass. I remember all the 80's & 90's cars in Florida just getting baked to death. On the exterior I pressure was carefully and apply back to black. I'm thinking the only way to rectify this is to paint with a UV resistant clearcoat 🤔.

Hello Aaron! I wasn't following you at the time you did this restoration of the windshield cowl. I didn't have my Cayman then.

How did it stand the time, your method of heating it up?

Thanks,
Eric

Never tried that technique... thanks for sharing.
I have treated mine with gummi Pfelge, and other items which I consider part of regular attention to ownership.

Very helpful, I wonder how long it will last 🤔. Maybe a one year review (another video idea 😉).

I've heard using a ceramic coating works really well to restore faded plastic. I'd be interested to see a comparison of the two methods!

As far as projects go, will you be doing foot pedals or the shifter? Thx, Jeff

No warping issues? I did the same but I'm afraid that I applied too much concentrated heat as the ends seem to be lifting. Trying to figure out a wY of pinning them down.

I use Forver Black Bumper and Trim "paint". Maybe you should try it and make a video about it.

Wondering why didn’t you install a new one. Last I saw they were selling for under $100
