Today I go over quality issues with my brand new 2020 Toyota GR Supra! I think the car is built very well and seems to be quite refined. But there are a few minor quality concerns I have with the car. As far as what I was able to fix, the cup holders just make a super loud cheap plastic on plastic sound every time I pull my water bottle out. I know it doesn't come off on camera well, but since its right next to my ear, it is super annoying. So I add some silicone to the inside of it and that fixes it very well!

So just a quick video for today fixing the minor annoyance with the cupholders and going over other quality aspects with my new Supra.

Every single new car ive spent time has had lot of build quality issues. Toyota, bmw, porsche, mercedes, lamborghini etc etc... these cars are just appliences at this point. Lease and return. Gaebage build quality compared to older cars.

I always love the BMW driving experience; however, I will never buy to keep. I just lease and drive the hell out of it. My wife always drives the LX570 because it’s the family car and we keep it for long term.

So, it seems that the only part that Toyota actually produced was poorly designed? Toyota cut corners by having BMW build the Supra for them, expecting to cash in on the sports car market without too much effort. Kia elected to build the Stinger themselves, but have German engineers (ex-BMW engineer Albert Biermann and ex-AUDI designer Peter Schreyer) design it, test it, and calibrate it. A smarter way to do things.
I haven't had a single issue with my 2018 AWD Kia Stinger GT Limited. Not with the cupholders and not even with the Kia badges (which some Stinger owners hate so much). Me, I'm proud of them!
The sad reality is that both the Toyota Supra and Kia Stinger GT2 aren't great sellers. Everything is SUV these days. Even if they're utterly boring.

The squeak you're hearing in the door is actually the door locks its a kown bmw thing fixed with a little bit of felt around the inside

There are now 3 recalls for the Supra, including the headlights and reverse camera. Plus issues with the wheel alignment from the factory.

The door lock pull tabs on top is what squeaks. Once again BMW known issue coming to Toyota. Same thing with the steering rack on BMW is messing up on this Supra also.

It’s not manufactured by BMW, it’s a 3rd party in Austria that makes the Z4 as well. I have 6000 miles on my 2020 Z4 and have absolutely no complaints.

That door squeaks is the Toyota touch and that cup holder is actually a mouse trap.

Dissembles entire cup holder, to simply put a bit of soft epoxy/rubber on the inside plastics, which could have been done in the car...
