For those who don't know, a hedgehog is also known as a porcupine. Hedgehog Pond is also known as Clear Pond and clear is a very good description. @26:56 you are at Proulx Clearing, a former lumber camp. If you poke around you can find remnants of the camp.

Nice. Your vids bring back some good memories for me. In the ADKs, you are supposed to camp within 15' of the "camp here" disc, if my memory serves. You may also camp at least 150' from water, trail and road.

Nice series. Thanks for all the info. Looks like I've found a new hiking area.

Great video. Looks like a really fun loop hike. I didn't even know about it until this video popped up in my subscription feed. I'm looking forward to watching all of the subsequent videos. :)

Definitely a change in terrain from your last trip up here in Maine. Great video as always, thanks for sharing!

The clearing at the jct. of the Dog Pond Loop and Burntbridge Pond Trail is known as the Potato Patch. Potatoes were grown to help feed the area loggers.

Looks like a nice  loop. I would like to go on at least one more hike this season, and it would be great if it was a little more gentle terrain. I am starting to think, not every hike has to be pushing your limits.

Nothing in the ADKs goes where it's supposed to. The village of Lake Placid is on Mirror lake. The village of Saranac Lake is on Lake Flower. The Dog Pond Trail does not go to Dog Pond! ;)

Thanks so much for making this series. I'm currently planning this trip with my dog. Can you share that mileage spreadsheet that you mention in the videos? Thanks! - Lowell

Peter, I know you're not doing backpacking videos any longer, but by any chance do you have the GPS coordinates to get to the burnt bridge pond trailhead from Connecticut.? I'm going to do the 50 next week. Thanks for your time. Enjoy your summer

Great video! I'm a new subscriber and am curious about what camera you film with?
