Where are you from in the WORLD and are there film festivals in your area!? Also, are you a photographer, videographer or filmmaker?

Love this! I'm 15 and last year I made a short film doc about my personal stroke, and it won 2 awards! The best part is saying I'm an Award Winning Filmmaker 😂

Amazing video yet again. The moral of the story is GO AFTER IT and TRY. Start small and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. For all the creators reading this - you can do it ♥️

"Don't be afraid to put yourself out there." Beautiful! Whats the worst that could happen?! The answer is NOTHING bad will happen, but something amazing COULD happen!

Before i begin, i just want to congratulate you on winning the award. This is the first video i watch on your channel and I like how you're not beating over our (viewers) heads with the fact that you won an award and you genuinely have a message for your viewers in that you urge those who have a passion about these things to go out there and just explore. I love it and thus you earned a new sub. I'm not really into this line of work but i'm very interested in seeing your content.

Preach it! My photography teacher really pushed me into submitting as many works as possible this year into the Scholastic art and Writing awards for young artists, and I honestly thought I wouldn't win anything. But to my surprise I ended up winning 9 regional awards. (3 Gold keys, 4 silver keys, and 3 honorable mentions) the 3 golds were then moved on to the national awards ceremony where thousands of pieces are judged on a national level, and I ended up winning two NATIONAL awards. 1 gold and 1 silver and now I'm going to Carnegie hall on June 7th for the national awards ceremony where celebrities like Marc Brown will be guest speakers and what not.

I never would've imagined that my work would get me this far, and I'm only 17 but I'm super proud of myself and it was totally worth taking a chance and putting my work out their. My piece that won a gold medal nationally, I wasn't even going to submit regionally at first! But I am so, so thankful that I did. Finally I'm starting to feel like an actual 'artist' and maybe I'll really be able to get somewhere in life with my work.

Also I paid around $60 dollars in submission fees, which was 100% worth it.

I completely agree with everything you said. I think that in this kind of business, as well as in the media/filmmaking and entertainment one, awards speak for consistency. Somehow they work as a job reference or certificate as well.

Hey Chris, I started youtube several months ago as a hobby for me and my little girl and now I want it more than just a hobby. This is a passion of mine now and every video I do I see my work progress. Last month I did my first wedding video for very close friends of mine and that meant more to me than I could ever imagine this "hobby" could have given me. Basically what I'm trying to say is you are a big inspiration to me and you push me to be better with every video I release. Thanks buddy

I had a film I made in film school that got into 7 different festivals from around North America. Dallas Film Festival, Canada Shorts Film Festival, Montreal Film Festival, etc. It was incredible! I was so elated and it brought me so much joy, I've been working in film and striving for more since. Sure we applied for 21 film festivals, but it was so worth it and so fun and exciting to make it. I used FilmFreeway and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! REMEMBER.... it's in USD$, not CAD$ for those Canadians. Awesome advice again Chris! Cheers!

Just a thought, a video on the technical side of your "Toronto in 2 minutes" video would be awesome! File formats, how you directed your friend, what you had in mind and what was spontaneous, etc.
Keep up the great work!
