I do recommend when drawing poses or anatomy in general you should use a lot of shapes! That's what i do to dumb it down for my art style :D

Hey Sona!! If u see this here’s a tip for drawing dogs or any animal! (If u want it to be a bit realistic but works as a cartoon type too!) start at the nose instead of the head then the eyes basically the face before the head and body and also like u do! Make sure to use a reference! Hope this helps! (Credits to my teacher for teaching me this!)

Steps for simple:
*head circle.*
Snoot circle.
Faded line sketch (forehead line straight, lil line down, snoot line, curved line for nose/mouth, straight line to about where u started, line up, ear, ((curved line, curved line under, ear opening)), then a curved line between start and ear, then horn. (Can be straight or curved) then eye then mouth etc)

Then sketch, then line art, then color under lines (under layer)
Then u do shading etc
