This video is about the phase out of leaded gasoline for use in automobile engines. To this day there is still tetraethyl lead added to aviation gas and leaded racing gasoline. It will be interesting if the two last uses of tetraethyl lead in gasoline is phased out. Also since I was born in 1951 I can remember when gasoline pumps had the label on the side that read, "For use as a motor fuel only contains LEAD tetraethyl". Tetraethyl Lead is a really great gasoline octane booster, but it is also highly toxic. I am glad that gasoline is unleaded today.

88 octane gasoline in indonesia was still leaded until pretty recently

In 2006 it was reduced from 0.3 to 0.013 grams/litre of lead, but there was still lead.

It was started to be replaced by lead free 90 octane in 2015, but leaded gasoline for automotive use was only completely banned in january 2023.
