Johnny Concrete (real name: John Østergaard Frandsen), is a Danish punk musician, born on May 6, 1960 in Aarhus. He was inspired by Detroit rock from an early age, with bands like MC5 and The Stooges. On December 31, 1977, he formed his first punk band, Dream Police, with Jan Schriver (guitar), S.E. Frog (bass) and Claus Buldermave (drums). Johnny was the lead singer, although his singing style by him was more based on screaming lyrics. Dream Police in its original form was short-lived. The band performed on the first Danish punk compilation, Pære Punk (1979), and recorded 2 singles, which were not released until 1981. There had been friction between the band members for a long time, and after a disastrous concert in September 1979, the band split up.
